Artists are Needed to create Outdoor Sculpture Installations ~ Semi-permanent in Brantwood Regional Park
Description: CCAC and Friends of Cecil County Parks & Rec are creating an interactive outdoor art exhibit along the walking path of the northwest section of Brantwood Regional Park where guests will stroll through 3 exhibits, each displaying a piece of art with signage and QR codes designed to teach lesser-known stories about Cecil County people and towns.
Initially these works will include:
- Robert Frisby, a local Black horse trainer who worked on Brantwood Farm in 19th and 20th centuries;
- The Indigenous communities that lived on/near the park before colonization;
- Bullfrog, Maryland ~ a former town between Chesapeake City and Elkton, locally renowned for the many frogs in the area.
The exhibit is in walking distance to a local ice cream shop, deli/liquor store, and a restaurant on Rte. 213 in Elkton.
Entry requirements: Free to enter. See QR code below for project and submission details
Stipend: Up to $1000 per selected artist, based on the complexity of the design
