Ken majored in art at the University of Delaware and worked professionally for about 15 years as an art director/creative director in various advertising agencies in Wilmington and Baltimore before taking a different career direction as a military officer.
Brig Gen Kennard R Wiggins Jr retired from active duty on October 1, 2004 as the Air National Guard adviser to Training, and Deputy Chief, Air Force Training and Requirements, Headquarters USAF, Pentagon, Washington DC.
Over the years Ken has painted in acrylic, watercolor, oils, along with graphite, charcoal and colored pencil. Ken has written several local books, his latest project is a history of notable ships and sailors of Delaware. He has completed a number of paintings and drawings of these marines subjects as a desire to illustrate his book.
