Northern Chesapeake Symphony Orchestra to Present Concert at Elkton High
On March 31, 2023 the Northern Chesapeake Symphony Orchestra (NCSO), directed by Dr. Nelson Fritts, will present a FREE Concert at Elkton High School. The NCSO String Quartet, String Orchestra, and Full Orchestra will perform a marvelous array of classical favorites, including Sheep May Safely Graze (Bach); Humoresque (Dvořák); La Vie En Rose (Piaf); Adagio from “Spartacus” (Khachaturian); The Banks of Green Willow (Butterworth); The Marriage of Figaro Overture (Mozart); March of the Meistersingers (Wagner); Berceuse and Finale from “The Firebird Suite” (Stravinsky); Bacchanale from “Samson and Delilah” (Saint-Saëns); and Themes from Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite – Part 1.
The ensemble works in partnership with the Cecil County Arts Council and the NCSO Board of Directors, who represent a number of constituencies in Cecil, Harford, and Kent Counties. The full ensemble currently has 26 players who come from the surrounding Maryland and Delaware areas with ages ranging from middle school through adults.
The program will be held in the auditorium at Elkton High School; 110 James Street; Elkton, MD beginning at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
