Laurie Fitzgerald, MSN, RN

Laurie Fitzgerald is the Director, of Oncology Practice Operations for the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Patricia D. and M. Scot Kaufman Cancer Center. Prior to this role she was the Director of Oncology Clinical Programs. She has been instrumental in the development of many clinical programs and cost containment strategies. Laurie created and launched annual cancer symposiums and monthly Grand Rounds for physicians and clinical providers as well as leadership training and ongoing education programs for health care professionals.
Prior to joining the Kaufman Cancer Center, Laurie was the nurse manager of the infusion, patient navigation and the breast health center at Union Hospital of Cecil County. During her time at Union, she developed the Breast Health Center and breast support groups. During her time with facilitating the breast cancer support groups she became a Mandala Facilitator and introduced this concept of deep healing to breast cancer survivors.
Ms Fitzgerald graduated from Wilmington University, with honors, where she received masters of science nursing, executive leadership.
Laurie brings her passion and compassion with strong community commitment to serving on the board of the CCAC. She has advocated for nurturing the arts for Cecil County through promoting ‘art activities’ throughout the county to enrich and positively contribute to quality of life for the residents.
